Baptism
What happens in baptism?
Jesus says in the last chapter of Matthew, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing in the name of the father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." Disciples are made in baptism, where people receive the promise of renewal, rebirth, and the forgiveness of sins. It is not special or "holy water" in and of itself, but that God promises to work through it. In baptism, we are welcomed into the kingdom of God and into the Body of Christ. (Titus 3:5-8)
Baptism at all ages
Some people are baptized as adults. Others are baptized as teenagers or later in life. Because baptism is not what we do, and instead what God promises to do in us and for us, baptism is meant to be received by all, and thus there is no age limit for baptism.
